Like Abraham before him, Isaac moves southward, and begins to fill the wilderness with life and true worship — only to be driven out by the local king. Has something gone wrong with God’s plan?
Isaac’s family self-destructs. The brothers part ways.
Jacob is driven out of the land, toward exile in the east. Someone unexpected meets him along the road.
Jacob enters into a power game with his uncle, and loses.
Jacob’s wives enter into a terrible contest with one another, and win.
The real problem in the family is finally identified and resolved. The journey home begins.
Laban enters into a power game with Jacob’s God, and loses.
Jacob is drawn back into the land, out of exile in the east. Someone unexpected meets him along the road.
The brothers reunite. Isaac’s family is restored.
